How To Fix McAfee Firewall Blocking Wi-Fi?

An issue that several users are facing with their McAfee security site is that they are no longer being able to gain access to internet after they install McAfee, and the most obvious cause for it is the McAfee firewall that blocks the user’s internet access. To get through this and fix the problem, it is suggested to follow the following two steps that should solve the problem.
The first step is to determine the application access. For this, go to your taskbar, locate the M shield icon and double click on it. Choose Web and Email Protection and click on the Firewall link. A window of Firewall options will open up, where you need to check if the Firewall in turned On. In the drawer for Program Permissions, read through the complete list and check if you have created any rules for the application, particularly any Block rules. Now, grant outbound access to any of the programs that may possible require network connectivity. These may include links that allow you to print with a network printer, Microsoft browser, email clients and so on.
The second step is to restore the defaults of firewall. For this, you need to first click on Restore Defaults. It is important to note that this will erase all of your custom settings. It may also prompt you to deny or allow many other applications or to add again any custom allowances and settings you made for any of your other applications, but there will be no other warning presented to you regarding the use for Restore Defaults button.
Once you click on the button for Restore Defaults, the security centre may prompt you for application or network permissions. In such a scenario, it is crucial that you take precautions while confirming a local network and be certain that you select the Home button.
Despite all these steps, if you still fail to gain access to your internet, it may be because your personal firewall is unable to configure to your network automatically. This happens due to reasons like installation of another firewall, enabling of several network adapters or the improper configuration of Network Properties. To get through this, you need disable the McAfee personal Firewall temporarily and then test the internet connection.
Double click on the M shield icon on the taskbar and click on Web and Email Protection. Then click on the Firewall link and in the options window, turn it off. The Firewall will then confirm via a pop up message that you wish to disable the said service. Choose a resume time and click on Turn Off. Then, do not panic as your security status turns red from green. After this, run a test for your internet connection. After the testing is complete, you may restart the computer or turn on the firewall back again.
If you cannot connect to the internet even when the firewall is turned off, then there are high chances that the issue is with some other application or service. Then you will need to contact your internet service provider or the manufacturer of your computer.
